Has anyone noticed that the front panel where the control knobs are located gets VERY hot to touch? I put my finger on it and it was so hot that I almost could not keep it there for long.

Does anyone else have the same issue?

Thanks

yup

I run a fan behind mine. Takes care of the problem completely

I just sold my combo of 1 year and got a head and matching 2x12 cab.

The combo chassis could cook steak on it after running it for a half hour or so. WAY too hot or my tastes. I was always worried about that heat as we all know extreme heat is the enemy of electronics. You would literally burn your finger if you touched it!

The head (since the tubes are on top and it is properly vented) gets warm to the touch, but that is it.

Thanks Jmango, Lasky and dudley. That's what I suspected, but I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth.

Jmango: how is the head and ED cab compared to the combo? Same great big sound? Any differences? V30's, yes?

Hey Johnny,

Having been lucky enough to A/B them side by side for a few days, I can honestly say that both are sweet (as you know). The main differences are like this:

The head /cab can do everything the combo can do but the combo cannot necessarily do everything the head /cab can.

I was able to dial in IDENTICAL sounds as the combo when playing the head /cab config. Pretty much always, I could copy the combo.

When playing the combo, I could NOT get every sound the head /cab setup did to a T.

The main difference being that the head /cab config has a little more sizzle if you will. The 30 in the cab can really get more gain sounding - BUT - it can also be dialed in to sound perfectly like the combo.

I hope this helps more than it confuses. :)
