Got screwed through ebay by a guy who lives in Tyler Texas. I paid via personal check, the guy never shipped, and ebay refuses to do anything about it. Anyone on this board in that area? Please help out!

DUDE! that sucks! I hope the guy burns for this. Can your bank help you out. They got to have a number of some sort to what bank account the guy got it cashed in.

When paying by check it might be possible for your bank to set those funds in escrow of some sort untill there is delivery verification of your purchase. There would probably be a fee for this by the bank. Since the seller has already cashed the check I think your only recourse may be small claims court.

Very sorry to hear about the ripoff. If the eBay seller does not accept payment by paypal and resides in the US, always use US Postal Service domestic money order. If he fails to deliver he is guilty of INTERSTATE MAIL FRAUD, and there is hefty legal backup for the buyer readily available starting through US Postal Service.

If it was a substantial amount $500+ you might be able to hook up with local law enforcement to get him to give you your money back.

I would be planning my next vacation to Texas. It's a big State. Lots to do. Tyler would be my first stop. Check out the local bars. Drive around, get to know the area. Phone book, talk to people.

This would be a hoot for me.

But.......

I'm a lunatic, redneck. I LIVE for this kind of stuff.

Best of luck.

Murph.

I cannot stand fraudulent people. It just urks me to death. I don't understand how people can just through their integrity out the window to make money. It's a sad state when the only thing you care about is the "almighty dollar."
