Frampton, live at Red Butte, last night

review of show:
excellent!!

"comes alive! 35 tour"
obviously, banking on the 35th year of the release of the big live album.
he played the entire album

his version of 'jumping jack flash' sounded just like Humble Pie, without marriot's high voice.

some pics i took:

i haven't heard such beautiful, well crafted, melodic and tasteful hard rock like this in a long time.
he played 'frampton' style, but his guitar tone was heavy, corpulant, and still classic sounding. A lot of Marshall tone, but refined. a good bit of octaver and Foxx distortion in it as well.....
i didn't hear one bum note all note long, super tight band.
two sets broken up by a 20 min. intermission.

here's the rest of the tour schedule, if you're interested:

and he hangs with the reverend

soundgarden.

it's all over utoob, if you want to find one version or another.....

i'll say this:

before last night's encore (a wonderful version of 'while my guitar genty weeps'), he did an incredible instrumental version of "Black Hole Sun", and sang the last verse with the talk box, using jazzy heavy chords, instead of single notes.

that was truly heavy, and still respectful of the original.
it was actually heavier than the original, the way he did it.......

That's awesome. I'll have to check around for it. Sounds pretty cool.

That sounds like a great show. I love those photos. I looks like it was a beautiful night for an outdoors concert.
I missed Frampton when he was in my area not long ago and I regret it. Next time....

I did see ZZ Top last week and Uncle Ted Nugent (The ******** Messiah  ) the week before that. Both shows were very good but ZZ Top was fantastic. 8) 8) 8)
