Here is something with Triaxis.
LD2 green, yellow, red, RHY green, mixed with Wah and delay.
clean, distortion riffs, solo parts.

with midi drums and i played bass, sorry for that :D
And i recorded few things today....after many many beers  but good day for some jam....
it´s a part from our new song... so nothing ready yet
So if playing is not great, listen just tones i got there.
I think i´m getting the tone of my dreams... very close

I areally liked the clip. One of the better Triaxis clips IMO!

To my ears distortion sounds are muffled,no treble or presence.
Compare them to the clean one.Clean one is alive, sparky, distortion is behind a blanket.
Let your triaxis distortion shy.

thanks for the comments.

i´m lookong for a fat and full tone.... it´s hard to find.
Treble and presence makes it so thin, but without it cuts distortion.

But maybe there could be bit more.

Yes i know, bass sucks. but i´m still composing that song and our bassist does it, so i don´t focus on that... i think it´s my bass playing too what makes so shitty sound :D

Do you know good eq settings for bass????
I could try them next time when recording with band.

Here are few songs with my band: http://www2.mikseri.net/artists/?id=44680&displ_lang=en

There i used triaxis too...
But recording could be better, and my tone too...maybe next time. That was my first recordings and mixing ever.

I feel inspired to babble a bit (its Sunday just here sipping my coffee)
I just listened to Nexus’s clips and like them allot BTW! Everything sounds real good he is looking for options on his tone, getting some constructive feedback. Working with the tools he has at his disposal midi drums and so on. Basically Nexus has a work in progress going on. The part that fascinates me is the amount of crap that is out there and pushed by the industry (there are exceptions!) there is stuff out there done in million dollar + studios pushed by the “machine”. Compressed to death, a skilled engineer EQing every instrument and making it fit “perfectly” in its own spot of the frequency spectrum applying the right amount of effect and so on (nothing wrong with a skilled engineer BTW). But IMHO manipulated so much that the instruments start to loss their organic sound.

Back to Nexus’s work in progress

I’m already more interested in this clip than have the slickly produced BS out there, and it’s not even finished! This is just an example of many! You listen to peoples work in the forums (Boogie Board and so on) ranging with all styles music, metal, jazz; fusion, country, and on & on. Allot of the work out there is way more interesting than the so called main stream.

OK I’m done voicing my frustration (crying) everyone have a good day.

NICE POST 6l6C!!!

I have mostly same thoughts...
How can someone who is thinking to buy Triaxis ever know how it sounds, if we allways use eq and compression and everything.

And i think that we should find tone to our selfs, not to give it to someone who makes it similar that all tones on the records.
I´m sure that mr. Andy Timmons like to mess around with his gear and find different sounds there, not to copy eq settings and make his sound with computer...

But, back to topic....

FEEL FREE to give your opinion

Hey man, I'm a potential Triaxis buyer. Why don't you make some clips to show me how it should really sound? You seem like an expert.

for the type of music your band is doing, I don't know if my style of bass sound would suit you. I pretty much aim for the Incubus sound. I went as far as plunking down $3k to get his rig and i can pretty much nail it.

Anyways, here's the kind of eq I like to experiment with:
-small cut around 20-40hz if you're getting a muddy tone.
-you can mess around with 50hz-100hz to see how much lows you can get away with without muddying the tone. I hate when a bass goes "woomph." I like to it kick your chest.
-boost low mids to get cut and growl (150-450hz)
-middle mids are up to you (around 500-800)
-very small cut in upper mids so the lows can be accentuated
-small boost around 4k-6k to add brightness and a barking growl

Thanks man! Good to know where to start with that bass sound.
