This is an early Mark II 60/100 combo formerly owned by Carlos Santana.
It is tan Tolex, and has a 15" cast EV 15" speaker. Three digit serial
number #587. The amp has just been rebuilt by Mike Bendinelli at Mesa.
For those that do not know, Carlos himself came up with the Boogie name.
After a show in San Diego, Carlos presented this amp to Javier Batiz
as a gift to him. Javier was the leader of the 1st band Carlos was ever
in in Mexico. Javier initially taught the young Carlos bass, as
that is what the band needed. He then moved to guitar, and Javier said
that very quickly- anything that he played on guitar, Carlos could play
it back to him- and perfectly. (See Vintage Guitar- new Carlos issue)
I bought this amp from Javier last year. It also comes with the original
Anvil Case- 'SANTANA BAND' on the side. IT will be on display at the
Orange County Show near NAMM the 20th & 21st. $9,500 A very rare
opportunity to own one of Santana's amps. Serious buyers please.
