After a 3 years, I think its time to make the first tube replacement for my Dual Recto. Maybe its me, or my ears....but I think that my machine doesn't sound as well as in the beginning.
I play in a Metalcore band and I need some of your help, because i'm new in all this world of tubes.
Some people talked me about the Svetlana and Tube Amp Doctor, any idea?
Something that i must know about the BIAS mod? What can I expect with the retubing?
For more info, I use an ESP M-II with EMG's 81/85 and a Maxon OD-808.

Thanks for all guys!!!!!

I recently got a set for my Triple from Eurotubes, you could check out thier site, plus the Tubestore.

Since you are deathmetal I probably cant give you any advice, I go for more of a classic rock sound. In fact I dont even use the modern setting on my amp, instead Ive focused on the Vintage setting, going for a sound similiar to say Panama by EVH.

If you go to tube sites you might look thru sets they offer with thier impressions of what the kits they offer.

I caught some flak on here cause I got a set of 6V6s for my triple, plus GZ34 Rectifiers, and thier set of high gain tubes, these are JJs, but Im pretty happy with it overall, have gotten out my box of 12AX7s that Ive acumulated thru the years and am experimenting with some different combinations in the V1, V2 and V3 positions, but havent found anything that really changes it that much.

Good Luck

Be careful cause you may open a can of worms in your search for the ultimate tone thru the tubes, in the end I think its more in your fingers, guitar and what your mind likes as far as a ultimate tone.
