Not sure where to post this but does anyone know how to go about finding what is causing interference / noise in my rig? I have a house with old electric ~1950 (grounded though) and noticed when i got my mark v (many months ago) that it was much more noisy than my 5150II. i have a variety of guitars and some are worse than others (notably the sincel EVH frankenstein pickup, which was really quiet with the 5150). so i play both amps in the same room out of the same outlet and there is a big difference in the noise floor.
There is nothing in the room except for a lamp and my guitar equipment, which is direct guitar into amp right now. I usually sit in the center of the room on a wheely chair and as i spin around or place the guitar at a different angle the noise gets better or worse. as you all my realize it's hard to sit perfectly still while playing guitar.
any ideas on how to figure out why this is so noisy?
thanks
