...4x12. Ive been looking for a slightly used one for a while and just happened to find one at my local shop while picking up some strings. $675 and it looks essentially brand new. I believe it is a Stiletto model, not the standard rec, but holy crap, what a difference it makes! I had been using my old B-52 at412 and the difference on both ends of the spectrum is night and day.

Totally! Im thinking it mostly has to do with the brand and type of speakers used, at least with my Stiletto vs. my old cab. Im sure there are some build differences but the dimensions of both cabs are pretty much identical and the materials listed in both builds look to be the same (Baltic Birch). Like I said, Im sure the MB cab is much better build quality but Im sure the difference alone in Celstion V30's vs. whatever was in my B52 cab is the major factor.

Build quality does play a factor as do speaker choice and materials, but just because the cabs have the same outside dimensions, doesn't mean they're similar on the inside. Acoustics, inside dimensions/shape along with other factors all play more of an impact on the sound of a cab than you may think. Its a combination of all the factors that contribute to the sound you here and I think Mesa has a fantastic design. There are other very good cab's, but I'll stick with my Mesa. Oh, and you are right, they are TANKS. Completely bulletproof.
