In the band were two other guitar pickers, bass player and loud drummer. My LSS kept up with them. One played a Mesa 295 and the other played some kind of Marshall Combo. I had the LSS in 15 watt mode, both channels. I had plenty of clean head room. Whoever thinks this amp has no clean headroom should get an amp with 6L6’s. The crunch channel actually cleaned up a little, at volume (around 1130 on the master volume). I typically play the crunch channel in the normal mode at bedroom volumes but used the thick mode at the gig. I had no trouble in cutting through the mix. There was an SRV vibe going on in the crunch channel. There was no problems with standing close to the amp as far as feedback goes.
All in all, I am very pleased with the sound of this amp. I even got some compliments on my sound last night. The 4/10 is a great addition to my head. It has plenty of bass thump (for my Country, Southern Rock style) but also has a top sparkle that is not harsh at all.
I plan to keep this amp/cabinet until I die.

I have a 112 LSS combo, and I agree with you. I play mine at gigs all the time. The amp really sounds great with the masters at 12 and the output at 1 o'clock.

I am really considering a 410 extension cab. are you using a Mesa 410? I have read a little bit about 410s and I'm leaning toward an avatar cab with webers. Any suggestions?

I play blues, country, and church rock (on Sundays at church). I also like southern rock, but I don't play too much of it out.

Yes,

I am using the Mesa 4/10. The main reason I went with Mesa is the size-I have the 27 Head and wanted a cabinet to match it's girth-the width of the Avator is a little shorter. I also wanted to match the custom finish of the 27 Head, which is vanilla.

I pretty muh play the same genre as you.

Glad to see you finally put that rig to work, Twally! Nothing worse than a lazy amp......

I'll get to check out a LSS one of these days. Took a road trip right before Christmas to the closest Mesa dealer (1+ hours, one way) and they didn't have one. My Blue Angel is still doing fine though. No complaints.

What kind of Tele you pluggin' in it? Mines a 91 American 3 burst. Thinkin' REAL HARD about getting a 52 R.I.

Best of luck.

Yeah... I've come to the conclusion that unless you are playing metal or hard rock you really don't need anything louder than 30 watts. My friend does all of his gigs with a 20 watter and doesn't have any problems.

My favourite (and newest-and only electric) axe is my American Deluxe Tele. This thing plays great, sounds great and is hard to knock out of tune. I can stretch the **** out of the strings and it stays in tune. I have gone longer without breaking a string than any other guitar I have ever owned-and my last favourite guitar was a Les Paul Custom.

I'd love to hear a LSS with a 4x10 cabinet. Unfortunately none of the dealers in my area have any plans on ordering one for store stock.
