Kind of a long post, so bare with me:

Seeing if there's any interest in a Mark III head. There are some issues with it, but I'll get to those in a second.

Cosmetically it's in decent shape. There's three drill holes on one of the sides of the shell. I have no idea why those are there, but it was like that when I got it from the previous owner. Obviously that doesn't effect the way it performs or anything like that. Sounds fantastic once dialed in correctly.

I bought new JJ tubes for it when I got it about 5 or 6 months ago, and I'd say they have less than 10 hours on them. I'll even include a spare matching preamp tube. The reverb tank is brand new as well.

Some of you may have heard these before, but here they are anyway. These were all recorded with this Mark III into a Recto 2x12 cab mic'd with an SM57, basically demonstrating the different metal tones I can get out of the head. Guitar is plugged straight into the head (except for on one of the clips, where I used a TS9). Little or no post processing was done to these. I wanted to be true to the amp's sound.

The last one is just me noodling around with a Flashback delay in the loop. The sound is from the camera mic.

Now onto the issue(s):

The 750hz slider inconsistently works. I don't know what's causing it. Could be an easy fix, might not be. I have no idea. When you turn the amp on, sometimes it won't work. The sound of it is basically stuck in the middle no matter where you move it. It usually works if you turn it off and then turn it back on. Although lately I haven't really been having this problem as much. I should mention that I haven't had any issues with any of the other GEQ sliders, even when the 750 goes out.

I'm not sure if this one is actually a problem, but I'll mention it anyway. If you turn the master volume up past 2 and the lead master to 5 (which is pretty **** loud), along with a pretty high gain setting, it feeds back horribly and is basically unusable. It sounds super compressed and will basically turn any notes you play into the sound of a cable plugged into the head input, with the other side touching a piece of metal. That's the best way to describe it. Again, I'm not sure if this is actually a problem because the Mark III manual states that a similar thing will happen if you turn it up too loud.

Everything else works perfectly. No scratchy pots or sliders, nothing like that. It was checked out by a tech recently, although they couldn't fix the issue with the 750 slider, but that's another story.

Bleh, I never even noticed this until now, but I guess it's missing one of the metal corners too, as seen in the last picture.

I'm asking $700 shipped within the CONUS. I ship USPS Priority on all my gear. If any serious buyers think that's too much, PM me your email and we can discuss it from there. I'm losing a pretty large chunk of cash at that price but this amp has been a nightmare since I got it and I just want to get rid of it. I'd do a trade for a Mark IV head + cash on my end, but I don't think anyone would do that. :lol: Worth a mention though.

Your Petrucci tone is pretty dead-on. Nice. As far as asking full market price for an amp that has 'issues', albeit minor ones, not so sure. Personally, I like project amps when they can be had for a reasonable price...especially when I know I'm going to sink $200-$300 in repairs, tubes, etc., but for $700 I'd expect it to be in full functioning condition. Just my $.02. Good luck man!

Yeah, that's why I mentioned if anyone thinks the price is too high, we can discuss it. The reverb tank as well as the tubes are basically new, so I don't think anyone would have to worry about that. It's really just that **** 750 slider. I can't imagine that to be a really costly repair, but I'd imagine it would probably have to be shipped out to Mesa unless you have a GOOD tech in your area.

Also I dropped the price down 50 bucks. You're basically getting Petrucci in a box here for about $650.
