I've used =C='s in the past with great success...any other tubes I should be trying?

Oh, and do you have to re-bias a recto when changing the power tubes? I was under the impression that you don't because they're fixed bias...

Thanks!

I like the =C=s. You'll have to buy valves that are within the Mesa bias range to run them in Mesas...

I have Ruby 6L6s in mine. I was told that they're the same tubes Mesa uses. They sound just fine to me, but I haven't tried anything other than some VERY worn out STR 420s.

+1. Do that and there's no biasing involved.

I just swapped in some JJ 6L6's in mine and man... they make it sound like a Mesa!!!
