I believe (maybe) the pickups for acoustics are more like tiny microphones, not mag pickups like found on electric guitars, therefore, there would be unwanted feedback/noise! Not very desirable! Ideally, you'd want an acoustic amp!

I put my acoustic through my DC-2 and it is also truly awesome!

I'll admit contour channel can be a bit of fun, but I normally use it on the rhythm (clean) channel. Sometimes with a little breakup, sometimes just clean. Very warm sound, very nice sound. Obviously once the gain goes way up the guitar feeds back, but I can still get a little crunch happening before it goes too far.

I have done it already with decent results, but acoustics sound much better with full range speakers than guitar speakers. I get better results running my acoustic through my V-AMP2 with the preamp bypassed, and then hook a set of powered computer speakers (with subwoofer) into the headphone jack. Then I get reverb and effects from the V-AMP2. It really works quite nicely, though it obviously would NOT work for performance...unless you ran the V-AMP2 into the PA.
