Hi,
I'm used to play with an F-100 212 combo.
(I'm trying to sell my Peavey 6505 because it's so inferior compared to Mesa)
And I want to buy a Mesa, would you best describe the f100 distortion more like a Mark or a Recto??
I want distortion like the F100, but there is no Recto for me to try out.
I was told that the F100 will be found on a Mark V and that the Recto is a totally different amp...
How would you reckon???

I play black/death metal...

I'm not that kind of metalhead that brings all the mid and treble down, and pushes the high to max.
I'm hoping to find a place to tryout the mark V, but in Portugal it is impossible... what a crappy country...

the mark v will have the tight aggressive charm you need for all the single note speed picking.

What he said.

The Recto tends to smear everything together a little more. It's a great heavy riffing amp, but single notes aren't it's strong point. The Mark V tends to sound cleaner and more defined, even when the gain is cranked up. Much better for tremolo picking and million notes per second arpeggio stuff.

Thanks!!!
People in stores have told that already, I could almost believe them, but when in sales... don't believe the seller...
After all, they were all telling the truth...
Thank you once again
