I like these boards!

So. I've narrowed my new amp purchase down to a used F-50 and M/B 4x10 or a used Stiletto Deuce and M/B 4x12. The F-50 has brand new tubes. I've played and enjoy both, but I've not cranked the Stiletto to see what it's capable of. The main tone I'm after is an old school Tool Adam Jones sorta thing, which, up to this point, I've gotten by simultaneously using two old heads: a Marshall Mk 2 bass and a JCM 800.

I really can't make up my mind. Any advice?

Also, check the Stiletto with the MB 410 cab. 410's seem to get a tighter more singing type sound than 412's.

Well I went back to the store today and eventually made my way to the Rectoverb . . . and bought the Rectoverb! Man this thing just smokes! I got the head and a 2x12 M/B cab and it's blown my ears off with the master and output knobs below 11 o'clock.

What's the story on the Output knob? How does it interact with the Master and everything else?
