f-30 dirty channel

i'm looking at an f-30 combo. i was wondering how the dirty channel sounds. can it do old metallica type metal sounds?
right now i'm playing a nomad 100. how does the f-30 dirty channel compare to the nomads?

While I don't have a Nomad, My F-30 sounds more "Markish" to me than my friends Nomad, but the real kicker is to hook the "F" up to a 4x12 and it is a real screamer, "Ride the Lightning" kind of tone. The only problem I have with the F30 is that the CH2 is more of an ON/OFF type of distortion that has taken me a while to get the hang of.
