Extreme Channel Volume Jump?

I can't seem to remember what it was like before, but does anyone experience a slight volume Jump on Channel 3 when changing from either Mark IIC+ or Mark IV to Extreme?

It seems as though today the IIC+ and IV modes are more congested/muffled, and less open than before. I'll have to check the tube layout to see if I got a tube giving me some funny business.

It even says in the manual that Extreme is a much higher gain and volume mode compared to Mark II+C and IV and that you should have the volume down when switching modes.
