Hi Folks! Quick summary about my gear (just like in the comic books where somewhere in the opening dialogue Wolverine has to explain that his adamantium claws can cut through anything) I have:

- Express 5:25 1 x 10 with a Celestion Gold G10
- Clyde Fulltone Deluxe Wah --> Qtron Plus --> Fulltone OCD --> Boss DD7 (sometimes in the effects loop)

So, I'm wondering if the following is just normal, and my guess is that it probably is but I'm just bored right now and felt like reaching out to you all. Big Dead/Phish/Jam fan, so I have my Qtron+ for that Garcia Mutron sound, however to dial that in, the settings on the effect have to be just so. This I have achieved, but, in order to maintain that, I can't raise the gain above Noon on Clean, and 10 o'clock on Crunch, otherwise it drives that effect just too much. I've tried tinkering with the Qtron settings with the gain up, dialing my guitar volume back etc., but I can't replicate the sound that I get with my original settings.

So, is this normal with certain effects? It's all fine and dandy with me. I love the way the Crunch sounds at 10, and man I love the Qtron+, but hate to be beholden on my gain settings to this one effect, you dig?

Feel free to expound if you like - and like I said, the answer may just be 'yes', but I was curious nevertheless. Next up - a Foxrox Octron!

Yes, its normal. Some effects have too much gain, then again one effect can boost another effect more because of the buffer in the effects. It takes some playing around with as some effects are better before or after others. I've spent many hrs. testing locations of pedals for optimum results.
