bought myself a Engl powerball, very cheap. And man what a sound!!!!
Holy mother this is like what I ever wanted to hear. tight aggresive and smooth saturated loud yeah everything!!!!! nicest cleanchannel I ever heard. it´s built like a tank and sounds awesome. A true modern metal machine!!!!! Engl blows a lot of amps out there

Used to have one. Very tight voiced with insane amounts of gain. Not many amps can touch ENGL stuff for modern metal tones.

A lot of the regular contributors on the Harmony Central forums have been posting about their Engl's and Splawn amps with enthusiastic praise a while back at least, almost like their own little cool amp club or something. Different styles of music present different needs ampwise.

How does it sound at lower volumes, say for inside a home? Still brutal, aggressive, tight, and how's the fizz?

it sounds really nice on lower volume settings, better than mesa or peavey5150. I live tested the powerball last night with 3 different bands and it sounds awesome. tight low bottom and cuts through really nice.
