Today I received the MIDI switcher for my MarkV from EM Custom. I looks really solid and works like a charm. It can be controlled via CC or PC.
Also a big plus over the RJM is that it does not require external power and operates solely what the amp provides to the footswitch.

The price is 120€ plus shipping. NIce and fast contact by email. They didn't have one in stock so it took a couple of days extra to make one.

Hi.

This thing has got me interested again to convert the rig to midified.

How that thing is programmed for case:
preset #1 : Ch3 / geq off / reverb on/ solo off.
preset #2 : Ch2 / geq on / reverb off / solo on
Etc.

I found some manual but it was not so elaborate

It's pretty easy. I uploaded the manual for you: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fj9a2efdp2mdf0o/Amp%20switch%20MIDI%20MESA%20MARK%20V%20%5BEN%5D%20.pdf?dl=0

Thanks!

So the device itself cannot save the own state per PC. So I would preferably use CC messages from midi controller to control the amp... :!:

Hum... have to investigate a bit more about this 8)

Don’t navigate to the company pages thru google... the link has been hijacked by some mal/crapware troll. :?

Thanks for the heads up! Just follow the link in my first post ;-)

I bought an EM Custom midi switcher for my Mark V 90W head.

Setup was simple with everything programmed and working within an hour.
EM's online midi calculator made it really easy.
https://emcustom.eu/midi-calculator-mark-v.html

Summary to help others.

  • program change from my Glab GSC-4 on each preset
  • set the midi channel to 1
  • for each preset, set the desired program change code to 1+value (1 to 128 vs 0 to 127 controller convention offset)
  • play

Not needing any custom cable or having to make one myself is nice.
Now I wish that there was a way to change the mode for each channel over midi too. (e.g. clean/fat/tweed for CH1 or Edge/Crunch/Mark 1 for Ch2)

Would love to have a solution which switches the modes of the Channel 3 :D along with Channel Switching
