Electro Voice EVM12L Classic Guitar Speaker for a MARK V?

In the past I've had huge love for EVM12L speakers (200W rating). In my opinion they are one of the best all around 12" high powered speakers I've ever used. I've used them successfully in 1X12 combo, 2x12 and 4x12 cabs. I've seen them used very successfully in old MARK combo's. Does anyone have experience or thoughts about trying one in a MARK V combo?

I run my Mark V head through a new Mesa wide body ported (thiele) cab that they installed an EVM-12L which I bought separately and sent to Mesa. I know it's somewhat of a different animal than being in a combo, but that cab is something I will never gig without again. I agree with you that they are my favorite speaker and shine with Mark amps. EV's are in all my combos and cabs.

Great thread. I am about to buy a Mark V, and was going to trade in my Mesa/Thiele EVM 12L cab on the deal. Now, I think I'll hold onto it and try it with the V head.

i have 2 in my port city and it sounds killer. heavy to lug the cab now but it's been worth it.
