well i have el34's in the power section of my 2 channel and i have been running it at times in the solid state rectifier mode in the bold setting and massively f***ing tight. The only harm i see is a higher plate voltage( although i have not checked it or the tube dissapation) at worst i would burn a tube socket or it would cause a burned screen resistor i suppose.

What would be the harm and would it be ok i am thinking at most shortened tube life. would you do it all the time i switch it at times man it sounds bad ***

The shortened tube life is what is mentioned in the manuals. I wouldn't continue to run non-spec'd tubes though. Get some graded or spec'd tubes if you want to continue with EL-34's and make sure you are in EL-34 mode too.

I don't see anything wrong with putting el34's with Bold and Diodes. Just make sure you flick all the proper switches.
