I have been running a set of Winged C EL34's in my Recto for a few months now and love them. Of the 3 channel volumes, they are all pretty close to each other as far as where the level are set.
I decided to try a set of Winged C 6L6's and while they did sound good, the volume drop on Channel's 2 and 3 was pretty noticeable. Curious, I tried my other set of backup 6L6's and another set of 6L6's, and got the same result in relation to the EL34's. Even from the day I took this amp out of the box, the volumes on the gain channels have always needed to be set higher than the clean channel, I just didn't know any different until I put a set of EL34's in. Strange.
