Hi All,

I am the proud owner of a brand new Mark V, I am in love!! I use a Boss GT-100 in the 4 cable method for effects only, no amp/cab sims. I was setting everything up for an upcoming gig and I have discovered that with the expression pedal (Volume Pedal) on the GT-100 in the fully up position it does not fully mute the volume coming from the amp, in fact in CH2 and CH3 its actually rather loud, channel one is audible but almost silent, only the MUTE button on the foot switch will fully kill the noise. Even my silent tuning mode on the GT-100 does not stop sound.

When I adjust the effect loop knob on the back of my Mark V to one of the extremes, it slightly (almost barely) improves it but I am hoping that I am doing something wrong. I am pretty sure this loop is a series loop. My previous amps all completely muted with this GT-100 previously, not sure what I need to do to get it done here so I am hoping you might be able to shed some light on this for me.

I have the effects loop setting on the GT-100 at 100 send/100 return which is basically in the middle on each. If I reduce the send to 2 it gets better but totally changes the tone.

Please help!! Thanks!!

There is always a little bit of bleed through the loop, that's normal for these amps. I discovered it in a similar manner to the way that you did.

Thanks for the reply, I was just concerned because I would frankly call the volume level of bleed to be substantial almost as if playing at low volume on CH2/CH3. My volume pedal will only mute the amp if I move it in my effects chain to "pre effects loop".
