Effects loop not turning on

I have a triple rectifier and I am trying to get it to work with my boss effect pedal.

I have the out of the boss going into the return on the mesa, and the in on the boss going into the send on the mesa.

When i have the effects loop switch on the back on 'loop on' or channel 1 (or another channel), it works fine. however, when i put it to "ftsw", and then click the "FX" button on the footswitch, it doesnt activate the effects loop.

I need to have the effects loops working on all 3 channels, but not necessarily all the time on all 3. that is why i am trying to get it to switch with the footswitch. thanks!!!

The only suggestion I have is to take the chassis out, and make sure the plug connection on the FX select switch is seated properly. Other than that, I have no clue.

thats what i was thinking, that something inside was tweaked. is that a semi-DIY thing?

Yeah, it's something you could check yourself. It's just a plug type connector, and you want to make sure it's plugged in all the way.

I had a similar thing happen when I had my 3 channel. I don't recall exatly what the symptoms were, but it turned out being that plug...it had vibrated loose at some point.

Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the head (remove the tubes too just to be safe), and pull the chassis out carefully. Turn it over, and you should be able to see the plug on the inside. Just make sure it's pushed on all the way.
