What should be the effects loop gain on the Mark V 90 with the FX drive level centered?

I'm asking because it's way low compared to loop bypassed on mine.

Remember that the loop bypass also takes the Master Volume and Solo controls out of the circuit, so it's like running the master volume wide open.

True, do you mean loop hard bypass, or do you mean using the footswitch to temporarily turn off fx loop?

Big difference

Ah, I see now. Using the hard bypass switch causes a huge volume increase, now I know why.

I've been having a problem using two separate amps and one stereo effects setup, trying to treat it as two independent effects loops,
one for each amp. But it's not really two independent effects. It does not function as two mono effects in one box, though I want it to.
I usually get the correct level in one amp or the other but not both. Yet SOMETIMES it works as I intended. That was causing me to wonder if I've got a loop level problem.
