effect pedals in solo 50 loop

Hi everyone,

I just bought a recto solo 50,

I hooked up a few pedals in the loop today (boss dd5 , and boss flanger) I had the fx mix knob up to 90%

when I would strike a chord hard the amp farted out and sounded like I was overdriving it some how , this was most noticeable on the clean channel.

I tuned the fx knob down to half way and it stopped doing it , but now I cant hear the effects pedals.

any tips?

Well rectos have a parallel rather than serial loop and they don't always like digital pedals, due to the delay created between the wet and dry signals (or something like that). Analogues are safe and some digitals seem to work ok (my holy grail for example) so try them out beforehand if possible.
