for anyone looking for a cool thing to strengthen your grip and wrist motion

http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/6a4b/

it's basically a gyroscope and it cause torque so it's like twisting your wrist with 35lbs of tension.

I got one a month ago and it's really neat. It really works my forearms and wrists and I've seen some positive results in my playing.

Anyway, I thought some people on here would really like something like this.

now you aren't going to get this huge from just this but you can see it working his arms.

I've been using it quite a bit and it really works my forearms and wrist

hmmm, he said he could get a quick pump without any dumbbells

seriously though, gyros are cool! I want one, but $50...

I got one that doesn't have the LED's for 19 dollars from Amazon.com

I've been very interested in hand exercise because of quite a few guitar players I know having tendonitis problems and carpal tunnel.

do you have carpal tunnel at all and does this thing help?

Probably around Oct I started noticing some pain in my left wrist. I've been working at a job for the past 3 years that I type most of the day. I haven't really been noticing any problems at all recently with that pain after a long day of typing and I got the powerball back in November. I think it has definitely helped.

The powerball can be a light work out but the faster you spin your wrist the harder the torque gets so it works the forearms a lot. My arms are definitely tired after using it.

It's interesting messing with it because it has a lot of pull and it takes some time to get used to controlling it. You can kind of feel a "circle" of tension as you turn it and as you turn it faster the circle gets smaller.

I think it's the best hand exerciser I have tried yet.

cool, I'll prob get one. When I used to work full-time as a programmer and then go home and play video games, I really started to get some pain and cramps in my forearm. Now that I work part-time (contract) and stopped playing vg's, things have gotten a lot better. Guitar never really hurt me all that much, but there's been a few times... amazon you say? i'll go take a look...
