Hey all, New to the fourm here. I just bought a Trem-o-verb from ebay and i cant wait to play this thing. But im afraid its going to be to loud just to sit at home and jam. I have read that you can pull 2 of the 6l6s and one rect tube to make it 50 watts but im kinda confused on which tubes to pull. Anyone know exactly which ones i can pull to do this? And is it ok to do this? Thx, Richard

You can pull either the 2 inner tubes, or the 2 outer tubes. Doesn't matter which set you pull. You'll also need to plug your cabinet into the output that is half of the cab's impedance.

Be advised though, the drop in volume isn't significant. It lets you push the amp into power amp distortion easier, but it doesn't really make it less loud.

yeah this is not the amp to rock out at home. I find it doesn't even sound good until you put the put the master past 9 o'clock. After that it's bliss but wall shaking loud.

I like the sound of my Dual with two tubes pulled, but it is nothing that anyone else would notice, sound or volume wise. For low volume chunk and string response check out a Screamer/808-OD8 type booster. To me it was a better alternative than an attenuator or pulling tubes.
