Hey

With the aussie $ so strong I have been thinking about the TC G sytem. I've aways thought it looked great but the price here in OZ is just killer. I can know get it from the states ,express and insured for abotu $1600 which really makes me consider it .

I've got a bunch of pedals i dotn use anymore to sell which would come close to that anyway . I've always been a pedal guy but since getting my DR I dotn use as much as I just love the amps sound too much

Anyone use it with the recto unmodded loop ?

this topic is relevant to my interests - anyone with this setup care to share experiences? i have mod'd my loop to series.

I wouldn't recommend it with a parallel loop. Serial modded loop is fine. Just make sure the mod is done well and there is no bleedthrough left. If there is still some you can always turn killdry on

I use to have a triple rec 3 ch unmodded. Didn't sound good. Then I modded it for serial and that helped a lot. Still wasn't perfect though. My mod still had like 1% of bleedthrough when in high gain channels. Killdry wasn't available back then.

I then replaced it for a triaxis and that sounds much better.

I bought a roadster combo last week as a backup rig but haven't tried the g system on it yet.

If you have a parallel loop, just be sure to set the G-System's "Kill Dry" feature to On... by default it's Off, and that will really mess with your tone. Also, using the four-cable hookup method works great if you take the time to really dial in your levels. There's a huge tutorial on the subject of optimizing G-System levels that you can download -- just check the TC Electronic website for the link to it. Improper levels is the #1 reason people are unhappy with the G-System. If you don't get it dialed in right, it can mess with your tone. Get it dialed in well and you'll be extremely happy.

I've had great success using the G-System in both a Road King II and Triaxis rig, though presently I'm using it in an ENGL rig of mine.

Here's an in-depth review if you haven't seen it before:
