Hi,
I am shopping for a 100 watt dual Recto head. I noticed that a lot have older front logo's that state "solo head". I see the current 100 watt models have a front logo that states "100w head". Is there a difference between these 2 models? Also what years was the change made? That might give me an idea of How old an amp was. To clarify, these are the models with the 20 pots on the front panel.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I was not able to find this info here without asking.

I want to say that the change in badging happened in 2010 with the release of the new Multi-Watt Rectifiers, but in double checking my info I found pictures of older 3 channel Rectos with the 100w badging so that shoots that theory to sh*t.

Basically, there's two versions of the 3 channel Recto: one built starting in 2000 and a revision that happened in 2010. In 2010 they tightened the amp up a bit, improved the clean channel, gave them multi-watt (100w/50w modes on a Dual), rectifier select, a serial FX loop, and messed with the presence pots so that channels 2 and 3 were identical.

The way to spot a multi-watt is the extra switches on the front panel. An older 3 channel was a mini toggle and LED on each channel. A Multi-Watt Recto has two mini toggles and an LED on each channel.

Thanks daisy! That's the exact kind of info that will help me. I need to find a newer model that has the watt select. This is important as I need to be able to limit the output at home at time when I can't go all out. Thanks so much!

If you really want to play quietly, the Rectifier probably isn't the best solution at home, neither in 100 or 50 Watts.

I know, a few guys here get great tone at low volumes, but it is probably a better idea to just use something else at home.
