Hi guys, so I own a Dual rec 3ch amp for about a year and a half and I am still struggeling finding the pedals that would suit this amp best, due too the parallel effects loop... (to be honest, the entire setup gives me headaches)

So I have some questions:

- Why did they put a parallel effects loop in this amp (are there significant benefits??)
- If I were to let this parallel loop modded to a serial loop, would I have the exact same tone and possibilities with this amp?? (switch loop on/off, master volume, solo volume etc...)

I really don't know what I should do ... because for example finding a delay pedal that has presets, sucks little tone, has kill dry , tap tempo... is very hard too find :s, and i'm only talking about delay here..

Grts, Lucas

(excuses for miserable English, I am not anglophonic)

I only use the FX loop for Verb and maybe Phase. EQ is good in the FX loop as well. Delay sounds horrible in the parallel loop.

i run a boss delay in the loop and have no problems.
first remember these brutes like to be run loud. on my delay i have the mix knob at 100%. at the back of the amp my send knob is at normal position and my mix is barely on. just enough for some delay. then turn it up. see what you think.
a parallel loop doesnt break your guitar signal like a series loop. for example tube preamp into a digital stompbox then back to tube is how a series works. so your signal doesnt really stay tubes through out the signal path.
a parallel loop allows your signal to stay true tube. you just add delay or reverb. like a mixers fx loop.
hope this helps. it does take a little tweaking to get it right, but i am happy with mine.

I have send at about 12 o'clock and return at 100% and I can't for the life of me get a good sounding delay with the loop. Pre and post preamp definitely sound different though.

put your mix knob on your pedal at 100% and the AMPS mix knob at 10%. leave your amps send at 12.00 basically reverse of what you got. i think you will be happy.

I see.

I've been using the 4-cable method with the amps mix on 100%. I will have to try it with the mix down seeing as I only use the loop for verb and delay. This could increase my tone quality by 100%! Thanks man.

no problem buddy. i use the midi cable. just remember these amps like it loud not earthshaking, but not bedroom volume. low volume really makes things tricky. not only the drs, but all tube amps. set your master volume to match and you should be set.
