I was playing the other night with my band and my dual rec started sounding weak. The clean channel lost power and then totally cut out all together. The orange and red channels were still full volume but gain sounded weak. I flipped the amp to standby and all the cables were working and plugged in. I turned the amp back on and the volume was all back to normal. It did this a few more times before the night was over. I played today and my red channel sounds super weak even with the gain at three o clock. I just replaced all the tubes except the preamp tubes back in the summer. Is this a simple tube problem? Maybe a preamp tube possibly? Do I need to take it to a tech? Thanks a lot.

Should I replace the preamp tubes? The power and 6l6 tubes were just replaced back in July. The amp still gets loud, but the gain is just really weak. The amp is at our practice space about an hour from my house so I'm trying to diagnose so I'll be able to fix it before band practice. Thanks a lot.

If the power tubes were recently replaced, I would try a full set of preamp tubes. As the amp generates peramp distortion, that is were I would start.
