Dual rec loop help!

Hey every one, I noticed when i have the loop on it sounds like there is a blanket over my cabinet.. Alot of the high end is being cut or muffled.. but if I go to bypass it sounds amazing.. So I stoped using my delay and flange rack units because it doesnt sound good with the loop on... Is there a way or mod that will fix this so when the loop is on it sounds the same as if i bypassed it and i can start using my rack units again!?!?

ive had mine a week and noticed that already......i ran a boss dd6 through the back playing around and it sounded ****

not sure why that is.....seems kinda pants really..not an "affect" i could live with

yea its bothering the hell out of me and i dont want to use the fx loop until i get it fixed

Think you will find there is nothing actually wrong, it sounds great, cause of the overall "louder" output level accompanied with bypass, bring your output level up in fx loop mode (towards loud band type levels) and the same sound is there, and then balance the solo level to your liking...

These amps are pointless for home use, unless wearing plugs, and then there goes your tone, out the window only for all your surrounding neighbours to hear and enjoy :lol:

I replaced the V4 preamp tube (controls the FX loop) with a NOS GE 12AT7. You have to bring your "send" level up on the back of the amp to compensate for the volume loss of the low gain tube, but it retains much of the tone of the amp and chops alot less high end off and actuall makes the loop useable with no mods. GE 12AT7's are a dime a dozen on ebay. I have about 7 of them in my tube case.

Wow that actuall worked better than i thought. I just raised the output more and lowerd my individual channels and it sounds like i got my beast back!!. Thanks alot. now i can use my effects threw my loop again!

Cool, I take it you tried after reading my post??

Anyway, I wanted to mention for example, Ch 3, I run my master at around half ten (max) and then yeah crank the Output (never really need to go past noon often though), you'll find that you probably need the master on Ch 2 higher, and Ch 1 even higher again, than where Ch 3 is set, to get levels reasonably balanced, though Ch 3 is always a tad louder the way I have it setup for my likings/band requirements!

Yeah thanks alot. I also did notice the difference in volume leve between channels.

:shock: aaahh finally i solve it!!! wow I've ben looking for a solution to this for a long long time. i use and old digitech rp200 as my delay and reverb... thanks guys!! :mrgreen:
