Heya guys, Well its that point in time for me, I'm in need of a retube.

I'm looking at eurotubes 'integrated quad, high gain front end' package.

I'm just wondering, have any of you guys tried a (2) 6L6, (2) EL34L combination in their Dual Rectos?
How much success did you have with it and how was the difference in tone between the 4 6L6's and the integrated quad?

I HATED this combination. The cleans suffered and the distortion sounded grainy and brittle. It just sounded plain 'odd' lol

+1.........I tried that combination in my Randall RM100 when I had it and had the same results. I'll tell you what I did like though was an integrated quad with 2 JJ KT88's on the outside and 2 JJ E34L's on the inside. Sounded huge with plenty of growl and the cleans sounded nice as well.
