hey every 1 just got a dual rec and i did the 50watt modification by taking out 2 power tubes and a rectifier tube.. and i have 1 16ohm cab and a 8ohm cab what load do i hook them up to? is this correct? i had the 8 in the 4 ohms place and the 16 in the 8ohms place.. or should they both be in the 4 ohms place? thanks.. its confusing the hell out of me

Have you had a chance to look at the back pages of the Rectifier manual (downloadable at mesaboogie.com) ? They have diagrams there for all kinds of ohm scenarios.

The way I understood things is that you would run the amp's out signal at 4ohms and then plug into the 8ohm jack of the cab. But I'm not sure what happens if you have another 16ohm cab.

16 ohms and 8 ohms in parallel is 5.33 ohms, a safe load.
Google is your friend.

thanks for that cool little tool! but.. i did the 50 watt mod and if im right doesnt it make a 16 ohm cab a 8 ohm and a 8ohm cab into a 4? or am i wrong?.. if so it would be 2.67 ohms.. i dont think thats a safe load right?

Unclear. I should think if it's safe to run two 8 ohm cabs (4 ohms parallel) at 50 watts, it will be safe to run a 16 plus an 8.
