Dual Caliber or Nomad series?? which would be better for me

Looking for a good used 2 channel amp. something for a general bar band type application. I am thinking DC3 or a Nomad 55. I would prefer a head and use a speaker cab I already have. but I am curious which amp would be better for me? they each have unique features Nomad has solo feature, DC has the 5 band eq. I am looking to play ZZ top, van halen, white snake, dokken. that type of 80's hair metal/classic rock stuff. something that does everything decently. now I am trying to stick on a budget here too. I realize there might be better amps out there, but more expensive too. I am trying to keep the price in check so I figured these might be good options for me to look into.

any advice would be greatly appreciated! :?:

For those old school tones, a Marshall would suit you better.. BUT, if you want a MESA, try a Stiletto II
I think that would be better than the other 2 amps you listed for those sounds.. Thank me later, m8 :wink:

well the reason I want a boogie is quality, durability, features. marshalls arent "feature laden" like boogies are, they are so archaic in that respect. Marshalls are kinda inconsistant for tone and quality, you can get a good one or a not so good one. I realize some of those bands used them, but it dont mean I have to exact copy their tone. I am just looking for a good amp to play rock with. something I can count on, and can dial in good sounds. Its not like I have to clone EVH's tone or Billy Gibbons tone. trying to clone sounds in a cover band isnt practical when your playing 50 songs by 45 different bands. Personally, I think Boogies are built better and more consistent than marshalls are. and boogies have a hell of alot more features and capabilities tone wise than marshalls. so thats why I am seeking a boogie.

I have both these amps and gigged a good bit with them.
The biggest difference is that the DC-3 lacks headroom at gig volume, it is definatly a little dirty for country tunes. The Nomad 55 stays cleaner of course and yeah man, it can make some mean overdrive noises. I did find the solo button useful.
I might sell the nomad, ain't gigging these days.................

what model nomad is it? 45, 55, 100. head or combo?

Nomad 55 head. Had it on a Carvin 2x12 for a while and then got a Marshall 4x10 for it.

I have a Nomad 100 head that I'm thinking of getting rid of if you might be interested? I just got a Lone Star and don't really use my Nomad anymore.

Oh and one more thing, I had a DC-3 Combo and just sold it a few months ago. It was a cool little amp but the clean wasn't loud enough for me to play with my drummer, he liked to hit hard.
