this tune was recorded with my triaxis, 20/20 and rectifier cab. the electric guitars are all done with an Eric Johnson signature strat.....let me know what you think.

not my type of music .
I don't like the distortion tone BUT

It is very well recorded.
Singer is cool
I miss a little solo or something different in the middle of the song just to give some fresh air but it is just my personal taste.

So very good job

excellent. you guys should be proud of that. you are making me want to go out and get a 20/20 for my studio pre. like the background vocals before the little slide guitar kinda thing. pretty cool.

just my opinion, but never tell anyone what a song is about. let the music be what it may to everyone.

thanks for the nice comments....and i agree with your idea about discussing what the song is about! I modified my original post so anyone that sees it now doesn't know what it is about! thanks.

the 20/20......its a beautiful piece of gear.....very aggressive but it has the ability to make cleaner guitars sound really nice as well! i love mine. i did some side by side compairisons with with a friends 290 and i was shocked at how well the 20/20 sounded against the 290. it wasn't better but i can honestly say is wasn't worse either....the 20/20 was just a little brighter and had more bite.....the 290 was a little warmer and tad bit thicker especially with the mod switches kicked in.

yeah, el84's are cool tubes. almost like and inbetween a 6l6 and el34 as far as tones. i don't really like the f30 but the 20/20 may be a cool bedrom option. while i was looking for one on e-bay i found a 295 on there for 399. but...i have to remind myself what i am looking for. ha ha ha.

keep rocking dude. make more, give me stuff to listen to at work.

thanks a bunch! king's x is one of my all time favorite bands! I love ty tabor and the way he plays.

yeah, if you never seen them live you have to. i seen them 10 years ago and i seen them twice last year. they are still awesome musically, but they are soooo down now. just seems like they lost the fire for life. Ty Tabor just made another solo album, haven't had time to check it out. i was amazed how close you got on that tone. i read some where that he used a recto pre amp and a 2:90 to make everything from Dogman up, but then when i heard your stuff i got to think...was the recto pre even around then...

yeh i am actually a king's x freak...i have seen them 15 times over the last ten years. I own all of their stuff including recently released "offical demos" released by ty and dug. I own all of the solo stuff by the members....ty's new solo album is great...very melodic...if you like ty you will dig the cd.

ty's tone.....here you go....this is just the basics.....their first 4 albums he used a gibson lab amp.....he used a mesa/boogie rig for their next album (dogman). he used a marshall rig for "ear candy" and then sadly he switched to a rack pod and started recording direct for the next few albums....lots of great playing and good tunes but the guitar tones were not very good and nothing special at all....finally he woke back up and got rid of the pod and started using randall stuff....his tone now is the best he's had in years but i still prefer the tones on the first 6 cd's when he used the gibson, boogie and marshall amps.

Dogman is my favorite. i know alot of it has to do with doug bass on that, but it is sweet. the Randall stuff know is ok, but it think most of the tone he gets know has a lot to do with the 4999 band EQ he uses. holy crap that is crazy !

i know it's probably only 32 but i'd still get lost.

i know what you mean....doug's bass sound is incredible!! you can take the song "fool you" off of dogman and pan the sound hard left or right (i cant remember right now!) anyway, the bass is highlighted by itself on what side with the drums and it will send chills down your spine....it sounds so freaking good....if you get a chance do that and see for yourself!
