I don't think I sold it for that... think it was more like $2200 or $2400 with paypal and shipping.

I bought that amp for that price ($2600, shipped) considering that one I bid on, on ebay went for $2300.00 and was in much poorer shape. This amp is MINT and has almost $200 in new tubes plus it sounds SWEET but I needed the money, so I tried to sell, but now I don't, so I'll have that amp for a long LONG time!
I do, however, think it's funny when someone runs their mouth about who's a moron. I bet if that person were standing in my face he wouldn't have the ball to do anything but walk away. I don't want to make enemies but someone who talks like that may just walk into a serious beat down one day. I saw it happen the day I had to drag this guy off my brother when he ran his mouth, so take care bro....

You know, sometimes people will say anything, and at times, I have gotten irritated over a lot less! I totally understand where you're coming from. The only sense I can make out of it is that people act out of their own interest (financial interest, jealousy, personal insecurity, whatever). Don't let that get to you, Shredd!

I think the OP is just irritated that so many ignorant posters judge without having a clue what they're talking about, or having any clue about the market for pre500s are... let alone the 64th Recto made. Needless to say, #64 is mint with new JJ tubes through-out. Including Rectifier AND preamp tubes.

Also, I think he said he was including a 4x12 cab with this?

Pre500 are popping up on the open market less and less everyday. Back when I sold this, it was during a time when you couldn't even touch a beat to hell pre500 for $2.2K. Hell, I think a broken one sold for $2800 on ebay right around the same time period. (I'd have to dig through old Boogie Board threads to find out exactly, but there was a HUGE discussion about it- some may remember)

Our (U.S) economy is fluctuating right now (for the worse in many areas) and you can bet that throws off the amp market. Just because you can find a MarkIV shorthead for $600 in mint condition with new tubes, doesn't mean that all MarkIVs are now worth under $600... does it?

Anyhow, I can understand why the OP is irritated. Boogie Board seems to be bringing lots of trolls lately. Perhaps, Ned may want to look into banning some IPs. Back when I joined Boogie Board, this place was an informative and helpful site. Lately, it seems to have been overrun by trolls and/or jealous and clueless, individuals. That's why I don't visit the site as much as I use to. I even noticed some of the "elite" members who helped build this community have kind of hibernated. This place has really turned into a bitch fest.

If you don't like his price, move on. There is no need to slander the guys sale. If you think you can go buy a minty and flawless pre75 REV C Recto for under 2 grand, then buy it! :roll:
