I just ordered Doug's popular set of tubes and I couldn't be happier. Aside from the flawed characteristics that come with a Single Rectifier, the tone is great. I put a compressor and EQ in front of the amp to tighten the low and and give me a bit more punch and clarity, then put a Tubescreamer in front to boost the leads and improve lead tone/sustain.
It's the tone I've always been in search of. Doug is the man.
