I'm an IDIOT!
I was a machinist so I KNOW the difference between right and left hand threads and that when you look at something from the bottom or other end, clockwise becomes counter clockwise...
Welllllll...when I built my bias probe I wired the tube base backwards. Cw instead of ccw. I did it the same as the socket so that 1 was 8, 3 was 6 etc...
I was getting like NO mVs with the stock tubes and bias but figured maybe they were THAT cold from the factory. Tried some other tubes and after installing a new resistor and trimpot I STILL couldn't get any bias no matter how much I turned the trimpot.
Probably should have tested the probe before I used it or soldered it all together. Ya THINK?

Anyway...do the Stiletto Ace heads REALLY slam the plates with like 500VDC??????
