posted this in the mark v section and then realized that some folks may not visit that section so i thought i would post it here as well.

i had just a few minutes to tinker in the studio this weekend so I did a super fast audio clip of a rhythm tone....check it out and let me know what you think.

it's labeled "Mark V tone"

Channel 3 Mark IV mode...gain on 2pm, presence on noon, treble on noon, mid on 11am, bass on 10 am,

graphic EQ engaged in classic Petrucci V with the highs slightly lower. full power mode on 90watts.

PRS custom 22 guitar, Mesa cab loaded with Celestion v30's. Shure beta 57a running thru an avalon vt737st mic pre into a roland vs-2480.

i like the slinky groove...

reminds me a bit of some of ty tabor's tones when he was using some mesa stuff...

YES!!!! making the ty comparison is one of the best compliments I could ever hope for!!!

Nice groove, reminds me of some of the earlier stuff before the big hair bands started appearing, but after the clunky 60's stuff was wearing off. Great fat, warm mix, and well defined guitar tracks! Always wonder how to get my recorded guitars to sound like that. Good stuff.
