Since the cabinet is not in use when I'm direct recording the Mark IV is it ok to just leave the Ohm jack unplugged? I'm taking it over to a friends house and I just want to make sure if it's safe to record without bringing the cabinet.

Also, the output level, channel master volume, and the level of direct recording knobs all seem to deal with the signal strength. Does anyone know which is the best area to boost the signal with? My Direct Recording Level is almost 10, Output at 7, and Channel Master at 4.5. Seems kind of too high? Thanks.

You must have a load on it, if you use it without a speaker load you will blow up your output transformer or connect up an 8 ohm resistor at least 50w this info should be in the users manual if you dont have one download it from the boogie website.
