Hy guys.

I'm a complete gear noob so i'm asking for your opinions about the switches diode/tube and pentode/triode.
what do you guys use for mkII c+, MK IV, Extreme etc?
They sound diferent but beside that what is your criteria to choose?
By default is there a mode that "should" be played with pentode or triode?
Is volume taking in to account when you choose between one of the two?
Also its beeing really hard for me to understand what are the diferences (electronically speaking) cuz of the english technical definitions.

I would like to ear your opinions.
My mark V is a beast i have no doubts about it. But is being hard to tweak it.

Cheerz^^

Interestingly enough to my ears both sets have similar results. That being either an in your face or not in your face sound.

For the rectification, adding tube rectification kind of smooths out the rough edges of the sound. For me its a clear win in the clean channel. For channel 2 it's really your preference, for channel 2 I find diode works well with edge and crunch and tube for Mark I, adding to it's already buttery smooth tone. In the end, let your ears decide on this one, I could see tube working well for edge as well.

The difference between triode and pentode is more substantial. Triode really makes the sound less immediate, like someone is standing in front of your amp or something. For me, as modern metal player, I see no advatange to using triode, however, if you want a more tame, vintage tone (especially in Mark IIC+ mode) I can see it having some use.
