Anyone using a GSP1101 and Mark V? I'd love to hear your setup, cabling, ettings, etc ... Having trouble finding a tone I like.

I'm not using the 1101, but I am currently using the Digitech GSP2101. I have hooked it up with the standard 4 cable method. So far it is working great.

Are you using it just for the effects, or are you also using the amp sims? Some of them require a bit of tweaking to make them work well with the amp's power section and speakers.

If you're only using it for effects, the tones will come from the amp itself. The best way to dial it in is start with a blank slate- four cable everything up and run zero effects, no EQ, etc, until you get your initial tone dialed in. Save that as a "base tone" preset, then start experimenting with effects.

Also, make sure that the line output speaker simulator/cab emulator is set to "off", or it will color things funky. Experiment with the target amp settings, too, as these will also change your tone.

I just got a GSP1101 and so far, things are running great with Mark V in a 4CM setup. I'm not using amp/cab simulators (not with MKV at least), but everything else seems to work great. For now, I'm mainly using reverb, delay, compressor, gate, and chorus, but I'd like to experiment with throwing an OD in there every once in a while. The OD gets tricky because it tends to color the MKV tone, so I have to be careful with that.

I have the GSP loaded with c63 beta firmware, and it opens up lots of additional options. For example, now you can choose where the Gate sits in the chain (before or after MKV preamp in 4CM), while STILL being triggered early in the chain (before the preamp). I would recommend the beta over official DigiTech software.
