I play several styles of music and have a DC-5 as my main amp. Looking for that heavy modern recto tone. Will a single rec make me smile? I have yet to play one so I am looking for one to demo. any insight from single rec owners?

I recorded everything on there with a single rec.
Excuse the overall sloppiness, but that should give you an idea of the sound.

Yes, a Single or a ROV will give you that recto sound. If you need more headroom, get the dual tho.

I love my RoV combo, tool. It's one of Mesa's best!! And, they just dropped the price on new ones to like $1,149 I think? It gives me that Recto saturation and brutality we all love. Highly recommend. I've got some videos on YouTube of my RoV combo, but the quality is not the best...

these things just sound wayyyy too saggy and mushy to my ears.

saggy and mushy is not what i need, I don't need a ton of head room so i keep going back to the single rec, might be what i end up getting soon
