Hey all,

I have a 3 channel dual rectifier solo head. I was playing today and my amp died on me, and won't turn back on.

Any good guesses on what it might be?

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice.

The fuse is blown. All tubes tested good.

Any idea what could cause the fuse to blow like that?

Only time I blew fuse was when I tried GZ34 Rectifier tubes on raw mode volume wide open.

I once blew a fuse when running an old Orange wide open. I couldn't find anything wrong with the amp and was told one of the power tubes may have overloaded and couldn't control the electron flow. I have no idea if that theory is right or not, but I put in a new fuse, turned the amp down slightly and had no further problems.

I've also had power tubes that seemed perfectly serviceable, then intermittently red plate as they get vibrated by the speakers. Turns out something was loose inside one that would short out as it bounced around.

I took them to a very reliable tube supply place in Denver. Not sure what they use but I have all the results of the test, all were fine.

I didn't have my preamps tested though.

I think this is what I was running into. Replaced the fuse and the power tubes, everything seems to be back in order.

Thanks for all the info, everyone!
