Hi Ive been a proud owner of a dc5 head for ten years with very few problems. That being said, about an hour ago I replaced my tubes with jj's from eurotubes. This is not the first time ive changed my tubes and ive never had a problem before. I turned the amp on and started playing and about 1 minute later i heard a pop. Now I have no sound on channel 1 and channel 2 is very noisy. I swapped all the preamp tubes with one that I know as being good. Could this be a big problem Any help would be great.

Are you getting anything besides the noise from channel 2?If you are getting a signal in the 2nd channel with noise I would suspect the v1 and or v4 would be suspect. If you look at the schem for that amp your rhythm channel uses v1a and v4a&b,your lead channel uses v1a and v4a&b in addition to v1b,v2 a&b and v3a.If v1 or v4 is bad you would get no signal on the rhythm and a weak, noisy signal on the lead channel.

I am getting more than just noise on channel 2. In fact it sounds fine except for all the noise. Thanks for the replies I will try swapping the v1 and v4 tubes

changed th v1 and v4 tubes and everything seems ok. I thought jj's from eurotubes were supposed to be tested before shipped but I guess theres no way to know the life span of a tube

I would return the bad tubes to Eurotubes,if they were only played a couple of minutes I would think Euro would make good on it and replace them.
