Yes Yes.. I'm just abusing this goldtop because I'm going to string it up in Drop C. So I figured I'd do one thing in standard before I did that.

It's 2am and the tracks are all first takes. Please be gentle, it's a little sloppy

Except I scooped the mid slider on the 5-bad down to where it was touching the first line or lower, and I boosted the channel Mid to like 8. And I might have pushed the amp just a little louder on the master volume.

I'm gonna re-track and update this. I listened to it when I was a little more awake and was like "omg those tracks suck". So I'm gonna find a backing track and do it right if I can find some time this weekend. (or just learn to not suck as much haha)

Reduce the 2200 slider a bit on the eq.

I updated the file with my own back track. Still a little sloppy, but I'm a 10+ take per phrase guy haha, and I only did 2-3 per track to get it "close enough".

I changed mic position to farther out to the edge of the speaker, towards the center of the cab, and I got rid of the 6ft ambient mic

Had to scoop the mids out a lot more than I thought I would to get close to the Metallica sound. They're almost non-existent.

Still a little sloopy but hell just x amount of times and you will get it.

Haha, I've been playing this song for like 6 years, and it would still take me at least 2-3 hours to get those riffs really tight for a recording. Plus I'll never get that perfect chug without picking with 3 fingers (i pick with just pointer and thumb).

I just put new strings on the les paul and dropped the tuning. She's not going back in standard any time soon unfortunately.

I got a new riff coming soon, possibly tonight.
