Been living with my DC3 for a while and now that I am in a regular band practicing twice a week I am struggling with inconsistent sound.Sometimes the clean sound is perfect,the next time there is a lot of hissing.Sometimes the GEQ makes a big difference,other times it is unnoticable.As a test with no input I cranked both channels and switched the GEQ in and out,either way I could hear the results when moving the faders so the GEQ is always bleeding through.The amp is the version with 3 metal toggles on the front,the footswitch is a Peavey 2 button no LED's.It works but could it be a problem,Maybe the LDR's need replacing? I am also on my second set of JJ power tubes in 6 months. Does anyone have info on the proper biasing and making the bias adjustable?I want to love this amp but it is frustrating me,when its working well The clean channel and my OD pedals give just what I need, I find the lead channel useless it sounds flat and dull.HELP if you can!

Dude, if you are finding your lead channel flat and dull on a DC3, there is something wrong with the amp. I have all JJ's in mine, pres and power and the lead chan just sings, with the GEQ in-gauged. The clean is open and warm and the lead is fairly tight and aggressive with loads of sustain. I have had the amp for several months and it still inspires me to play. I don't know what to tell you, I hope someone can help you out.

@trickytrick

are you using JJ High Gain Tube kit for DC-3 from eurotubes?..

I am using JJ high gain tube set.I am going to look into replacing the LDR's,I think the GEQ having an effect even when switched out indicates a switching problem maybe this is screwing with the lead sound.I could really use help with making the bias adjustable.
