To fully utilize the unlimited voicing of this amp why don't we start sharing our personalized setting.

Note: I think this will be more accurate if we do this with the guitar plugged in directly to the amp without any in between gadget. I said no gadgetry coz we all have diffrent type of it so it is useless to get this thing involve.

Will this be helpful to fully understand this Amp?
Please if you have anything to add or want to omit, do so.

This sound is great for solo when playing live.It sounds a bit to midsy when in the room, but on stage it sounds great,it is warm,round,dinamic,singing,comanding..I think of it,as it is dominant instrument, when solo, and taking the colours of the rest of the instruments of the band, and making it it's own. With a bit of delay, works even better.

Guitar Type: PRS McCarty
Humbucker= Duncan Alnico II humbuckers with 3-way switch & push pull splitter
This guitar sounds sweet! I can get anything from BB-King to Allman Brothers to any ZZ Top tone out of this guitar with these settings and a little play on the guitar's Volume Control! It's my favorite!
Cleans have a touch of hair on them and the Lead tones are pure Santana!

Guitar Type: US Strat Deluxe 50th Anniversary
Single Coils= Lace Hot Golds with the 13k bridge pickup
The Clean tones are incredible with this amp/guitar combination! Very articulate and bell-like with tons of sustain!
The Lead tones are very Hendrix-ish! I can still tell it's a Strat that I'm playing, unlike some other amps I've owned that mush everything together and take away each guitar's character!

Guitar Type: PRS Custom 22
Humbucker= DiMarzio Air Norton (neck), & Megadrive (bridge)
Cleans are extremely sweet! Lots of harmonics out of the neck pickup!
Leads are phenomenal! They stick out in any band situation!

Guitar Type: Carvin DC-747 7 String
Humbucker= Hum/Single/Hum stock Carvin pups (so far)
Cleans sound like mud. These pickups just weren't meant to be played clean.
Leads are very heavy with lots of thump and growl!

Note: The only pedals I use at this time, and this is even a rare occasion, would be a Bad Horsie II wah and a Maxon CP-101 compressor. I don't change the amp's settings though when I'm using these pedals.

If I want to play Metal, I turn the Presence on the Lead channel to 3.5 to 4.5 depending on the room and it instantly darkens up the tone. I usually don't change any of the knobs but the Presence!

The Thomas mods include:
Much better Cleans
Better Reverb
Different Tone Stack Capacitors in the Clean channel
Bias Pot
Master Volume Mod
Filter Cap upgrade
Series FX Loop
Mercury Magnetics transformers
Cathode/Fixed Bias switch

Good info. I think I'm about to spring for a set of the Hot Golds for my '08 AmStd.

I made the mistake of putting my BBE sonic stomp on my pedal board. It really likes to be in the FX loop.

Oddly enough, my sonic stomp REALLY works its magic when run through the FX loop of my PA mixer. The sound justt jumps out of the speakers!

channel rhythm

gain 3
treble 5
mid 3
